Fresher

Like my mind is fixed clock
I think of time, and to lecture rush
Hovering to lecture rooms, from hall, even to aud
Odlt, post graduate hall
Running through steps of such
I mean, I have to keep up with these
Not like search of golden fleece
But GP that bring accepted bliss
Aint chasing the wild geese

You don't get? alright listen.
'3rd class' oh! Pass. All those sounds like loser.
'Two two' my foot, ain't better, second to loser
'Two one' they say, is average. "U tried" is not my move sir!
Top dog first class! award!! applause!!! and all the likes
Makes me dreamly feel like vandamme on power bike.
I keep that at heart hence I try work hard, like loosing is spike.

Do I need the mike? I've gat to announce that its been a while.
Whiling away time means work will pile,
And 5yrs course like five thousand miles,
Yet I've gat to smile, ain't I human? I won't ask why.

I came in as a fresher. With the hope of life
Thinking 'uni' is so pleasing like king's favorite wife
But most time it seem like my neck on the knife
It can be so demanding. Yet am I complete in five?
All I saw was the buildings and hyping and the bubbling jive
But I saw some, balancing and making... What is their drive?
Then I watched and listened, though maintained my suave
Then I think I heard them say... I almost dived
"Beyond academics revolves the life"

Wow! I thought, 'life! its time to jive'
But complete life they meant ain't party life
Roundness in acts and involvement in five
My room, The class, Reading (that might be night class)
Little Socials but most important, God's kind of life.
Then I realize, works alone is not the life
Yet sports alone can make one cry
When some read all day, their brain could fry
But to keep it top sport, I got the big G in my life

This is for you, just to make it better
To make it cool, 'baba gbagbe say you be fresher'.
There are those called the goal getter
The early starter and in face of challenges do not stutter
You can't afford to let your GP suffer
But I have a cheat code "it laying all on HIS altar".
I wish I understood when I was a fresher.

Break (an article, for the publication, O. A. U)

Hey there!
Am I permitted to say WELCOME back at this moment. It's not too late I guess, it's our first meeting... On this platform, probably. How was the break? Where was your break? What was your break like? You had a break? I mean a break! Break!! Break!!!
Do you know that officially, the break is ended? Do you know that another break is on? Really, seriously, I mean you are on break, now, even this moment. You don't think I'm right. Do you? Its not that weird, let me give a simple thing you might want to know, I won't waste time. Let's go this way.
BREAK: ...to interrupt one's activity or occupation for a brief period.
Synonyms: Pause, Interruption, Lull, Breather, Recess (Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2015Edition).
For the purpose of this discussion, let us have the synonym "PAUSE" in mind. I'm safe to say then that break (in this context) is a pause from what you were doing for something else (Opposite in most cases).
It is because we've been in school and got stuck with events of the Academia that we go on break and relax in many ways. (#vacation). In the same vein, you are almost sure that a temporary pause from playing to work is also a break as is a temporary pause from work to play. Did you get? I mean...
A wise man once told me "when you sleep for longer hours, you sometimes get tired and the best way out of the weariness is to get up and get something doing which might include walking = work done. That is a form of rest, break! You'll agree with me if I say that Eating equates break from starving, fasting or hunger strike and so we have "breakfast". And you'll also agree that Reading is break from playing as Movies is break from lecture week. Think of other examples with the meaning of "break" in mind. And hope you won't laugh at my conclusion that I've been able to convince and not to confuse you ***winks*** that break is pause/discontinue from anything to do another thing. There! So I say eventually "WELCOME TO BREAK FROM BREAK".
But splendidly, now that vacation is done, are you really ready for the "beak", have you started, are you ready to start "work"? Provided you've "dropped the books and laced the boots", don't you think its time "change to shoe and embrace the book" and when you run, its to lecture rooms. You know, early starters are early risers and see a man diligent in his works, he shall stand before kings and not mere 'students' and also that there is time for every thing, time to 'break' and time to 'read'.
Above all, the fact that no fellowship at home might have giving you break from church activities one way or another. Why don't you resume in that sense, I've never seen the righteous forsaken. Yea, Academics comes first but there is one who can guarantee a life after school, why don't you invest in HIS business, the Kingdom Business. If you don't have a fixed fellowship, go for the word, you don't belong to the work force? Get involved, if you've not been serious with it, start seeing it as an investment, its coming back to you. Labour to enter into the rest. All I have for you (not 'all') today is "How was your break" and "Enjoy the rest of your stay on campus, this session, this semester, this month, this week and this day.  TE AMO!

                                                                 ...Godlidified.

'Kalen' your name

I do this without 'my muse'
For right now,  la nu, 'this muse'.
Gracias, she won't refuse,
Transmitting right, not blown fuse,
Cause to groove, her name I use.

More than the best, she'll make you cruise
Adorable! Soothing like fresh juice
Your taste not high? This one is 'tush'
Obviously beautiful, no blush from bush
Welcome! Kale renewed, dazzling, you'll think its 'cush'
Affectionate! Caring for all without push.

Tell me you do not know
Envy must sure now flow,
Many, for yet, you glow.
Invisible, your bow and arrow,
That unawares caught the heart of 'bo'
Officially the world now know,
People like you exist. And oh!
Everyone is seen the glow, I won't let go.

Brilliant Kale! Her wit so bright
Exquisite aura, yes,  bright, no night
Lovely loving heartbeat, to dark brings light
Lover of songs and Dios, that bonds so tight
Orderly in all her steps, This is the right.

Keenly I tender my praise this day
Applied to the rythm of wish to may
Like its val, oh! Beyond birthday
Enjoy this blessed day, and hence, every other day
Xtraspecial happy birthday from the heart of your hearth to the hearth of my earth, with love, borex of kalex.

the epitome of beauty

extremely slim and beautiful
straight tall and decorated at pinnacle
you posses your sisters qualities
but your fruit only make difference

your long hairs like big tentacles
your fibrous feet like numerous worms
that is ancestral qualities
and your beautiful marks all around

i love you as everyone else does
no meaningful man do without you
without the things gotten from you
some house are dirty without roof

the oils and kernels from your fruit
palm-wine is still tapped from your shoot
your tentacle hairs forms the broom
palm-tree decorates in days of bloom
